12.01.2012 - TEDx Eutropolis

4th of february 2012 in Hasselt (B)_In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

What is Eutropolis?

Eutropolis is an everchanging utopian vision for the Euregion Meuse-Rhine. It connects more than 10 middle sized cities in this international region by imagining a crossborder subway system. This vision is not about transport. This vision is about making borders fade!

Vision

What you'll see is an image of a diverse international partly urbanized, partly green area with 3.9 million inhabitants, three nationalities, three languages and with many institutions in the field of culture and education. In this regard Eutropolis is a truly European laboratory.

Fluid

Eutropolis is not a solid concept. It was created by Maurer United Architects and is now taken further by the SocialBeta foundation. An interactive map was created with designers and researchers, the model is used in various presentations and there will be an upcoming presentation on Eutropolis as a prototype of the crossborder networkcity.

By working co-creating TEDxEutropolis with CreativeClass in 2012 truly live and work the spirit of Eutropolis. After the 2010 event in Heerlen our next stop is Hasselt!
