Sylvia Husted is economist and lawyer. She is executive director and managing board of the u-institut in Bremen as well as of the GründerZentrum Kulturwirtschaft Aachen e.V.

As project management of diverse EU-projects she has specialized on the training and further education of entrepreneur in the creative industries. Since 2010 she also realizes the annual competition “Kultur- und Kreativpiloten Deutschland” for the initiative cultural and creative industries of the federal government.

Furthermore she is co-author of the report „Existenzgründung und Existenzsicherung für Künstlerinnen und Künstler“ (2007) and „Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft: Ermittlung der gemeinsamen charakteristischen Definitionselemente der heterogenen Teilbereiche der „Kulturwirtschaft“ zur Bestimmung ihrer volkswirtschaftlichen Sicht“ for example.

At the final conference Sylvia Hustedt will present a brand-new study of the creative industries , which was written by order of the city Aachen. The study is entitled with „Warum Innovation über Grenzen geht - Thesen für eine erhöhte Wirksamkeit der Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft in Europa und der Euregio Maas-Rhein.“
