15.11.2013 - Speaker: Michael Söndermann

Michael Söndermann manages the Culture Industries Research Office in Cologne and is editor and co-author of several culture and creative industry reports for the German government and ministries.


Since 2006, Michael Söndermann is member of the administrative board of the UNESCO institute of statistics and since 2009 he is scientific advisor of the European Council for the project “ERICarts Compendium Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe". Between 2002 and 2009, he was a lecturer at the University of Art and Design in Zürich and member of the in Zürich established Creative Industries Unit. Before, he worked as a manager of the working group for “Kulturstatistik e.V.” in Bonn and was a freelance author at the Cultural Department of the “Deutscher Landkreistag”. Michael Söndermann studied social and cultural sciences in Cologne and Hildesheim.

At the final conference he will present the brand-new report „Warum Innovation über Grenzen geht – Thesen für eine erhöhte Wirksamkeit der Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft in Europa und der Euregio Maas-Rhein“ together with Sylvia Hustedt of the u-institut.
